How to fight your battles

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

I’m sure most of my readers have seen or heard about the #georgefloyd incident. If you are a person of color, if you are black man, if you are a human - this video enraged and saddened you. It saddened me as well.

With a heavy heart, I began to search the scriptures to gain clarity. Clarity on how to fight social injustice. Clarity on what is my part and what is God’s part. Clarity on what angle to come from. What can I do, if anything at all? I thought about Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks, Medgar Evers and countless others who took action against hate. Some until the point of death. I had to seek God for understanding because...we wrestle not against flesh and blood, right?

Right. This is a spiritual fight - first and foremost. However, God has empowered His people, by His spirit to fight. To make a difference. The bible shows us through Ester, David, Moses...that God is not a "do nothing" God and through His spirit we can cause things to change. #georgefloyd’s breath is gone. But yours is not. Everybody has influence somewhere. Use your influence. Pray. March. Blog. Post. Pray again. Do something!!! And whatever you do, let the Holy Spirit lead you and strengthen you. FIRST. Furthermore, do not allow the climate of the world to cause to forget that if God is for you, He is more than the world against you. The color of your skin doesn’t determine or prevent God’s favor on your life. He is for you, not against you. He is with you. The blessing is on you, no matter what it looks like. I am thankful we serve a God who reigns over everything. I am thankful to serve a God who gives me power.

Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord. Jeremiah 1:8

He will contend with those who contend with you. We can NEVER be defeated. Be of good courage friends. He still has the whole world in his hands. Until next time, be big, be balanced, be blessed. Janelle
